CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 7.33 g), 'Rolltier' type. Convex surface with a dragon-like animal with the body of a serpent ('Rolltier') rolled up to left. Rev. Six pellets within torque with pellet at each end; all within shallow incuse. Dembski 441-446. Flesche 284-286. Karl 230-235. LT 9421. SLM 1059-1062. Well struck and attractive, a lovely piece. Minor flan faults as usual, otherwise, about extremely fine.
